Yuen Garden Dim Sum, Puchong Utama

Aiyor... I was expecting good dim sum here but I was really disappointed with the taste of the dim sum here. The deco, service, cleanliness and the presentation of the dim sum are all above average. Too bad that does not apply to the taste of the dim sum.

My mom actually brought my whole family for breakfast here. According to her, the dim sum here was delicious when she ate there for lunch a few weeks back. Can the taste of dim deteriorate that fast?

The dim sum place was filled with people, even on the upper floors. I wonder if others enjoyed the dim sum.

At least the service was fast and we were actually very comfortable having dim sum there. Then again, new places are already clean.

Char Siew Sou. BBQ pork pastry. The pastry smelt a little weird due to the low qualiy margarine/butter used. The bbq pork inside was only so so. Nothing special about this pastry. Rating: 5.5/10

The top left pastry is called "Wooh Kok". The Wooh Kok is bbq pork wrapped with deep fried smashed yam. The yam used wasn't fragrant enough and again, nothing special about the bbq pork. It was the same bbq pork found in the Char Siew Sou and the Char Siew Pau. Rating: 6/10
Bottom left. I forgot what this is called but it's actually deep fried flour pastry stuffed with prawns. This taste better then the rest but the chef didn't know how to deep fry this properly. He\she left a lot of oil soaked into the flour making it quite oily. Rating: 7/10

On top, "Siew Mai". Minsed pork dim sum. I didn't taste this but my sis said it tasted only average.
I don't know what the bottom dim sum is called but looks nice right? But looks can be deceiving. The base is actually just cabbage, and on top just prawn dim sum. I taste prawn, and prawn only. Rating : 5.5/10

Top left and bottom left are fish balls mixed with a little chili inside. Rating: 7/10.
Bottom right is the "Har Kau". This is prawn dim sum wrapped with rice starch sin. Rating: 6.5/10
On the top right is the "Siew Mai Wong", or called the King of Siew Mai. This was the best dish among all here. It's a mixture of minced pork and prawns. Rating: 9/10. The one in the middle is "Pai Kuat", pork ribs. Rating: 7/10

Overall just another dim sum place. I don't think I will eat there anytime soon.

I tried it recently, my dad use to love the Chinese tea there especially char wong, but now it taste horrible! Absolutely bitter! My aunty said that they change supplier recently and are now providing really low grade Char wong! And they charge a bombshell! Thank god they still stick to the same supplier for the other tea! If you are there! Save yourself the trouble and order Jasmine (If i'm not mistaken the brand is Sister Brand)! Good Quality and really smooth!

The quality of the dimsum dropped tremendously at this place. A year ago, it was avearage, but now, it has resorted to using cheap material for the dimsum.

The pork tastes funny and the prawns stale.

If you ask me, this place will go down in no time.
